New Authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO) Features

The platform has expanded its authentication capabilities to provide more seamless access for enterprise users:

  • Added Okta integration alongside existing Google and Microsoft SSO options
  • Introduced Recent Entities feature for quick access to frequently used entities
  • Streamlined login process reduces navigation time

Modernized User Interface (UI) and Landing Page

SIMPL’s new UI represents a complete overhaul of the user experience, focusing on accessibility and a more intuitive interface:

  • Completely redesigned landing page with modern look and feel
  • To-dos and notices prominently displayed at the top for immediate visibility

The platform’s navigation has been restructured to accommodate growing functionality while maintaining user-friendly access:

The payment workflow has been completely redesigned to improve efficiency and user experience:

  • Redesigned flow follows top-left to bottom-right approach
  • Enhanced bill review process with detailed GL information
  • Flexible payment scheduling (approve today, process later)
  • Integration with Bill.com for seamless payment processing
  • Improved vendor bill approval and payment workflow

Daily Workflow Management

As a longtime SIMPL super user, Honeyman also shared insights on how SIMPL serves as a central hub for daily financial operations, eliminating the need for multiple system logins:

  • To-dos and notices serve as the primary starting point each day
  • Eliminates need to access multiple systems (Bill.com, Nexonia, Intact)
  • Streamlined approval process with business rule enforcement
  • Visibility into approval chains and reviewer history
SIMPL makes it so that customers don’t have to be in five systems a day. I don’t have Bill.com open, I don’t have Nexonia open, I don’t have Intacct open…I’m not even sure what my Intacct login is at this point because I really just go through SIMPL. I can ignore any of my emails from Bill.com or Nexonia because I can come right in here and approve.

Financial Reporting Capabilities

SIMPL’s financial reporting is significantly easier to navigate compared to other GLs like QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Intacct.

The platform allows for clear financial views by department or category without the complexity of managing double chart of accounts for COGS:

I spent three days in a NetSuite reporting class and still couldn’t build the report. SIMPL lets me drill in two clicks.

  • Ability to exclude sensitive data (e.g., salary information) from specific users

SIMPL’s permissions are pretty incredible. You can give people permission to see just their class. If you have a product owner for ‘Product One,’ you can give the owner access to SIMPL but restricted to just Product One, and maybe you’re also like, ‘That owner really shouldn’t see people’s salaries either.’

Revenue and Spend Analytics

The platform provides comprehensive tools for analyzing financial trends and vendor relationships:

  • Trended Revenue Details show customer revenue patterns by month
  • Trended Vendor Spend identifies spending patterns and cost optimization opportunities
  • Month-over-month analysis for identifying unusual transactions

I really like to come in here and see how my revenue is trending and then on the flip side same thing on spend management, my trended vendor spend to see how that’s going.

  • Reduces ad-hoc reporting requests

The way I use SIMPL with the board is providing them access to see the financials early and often. They can come in here, they can see it anytime so that I don’t get pinged for ad-hoc reports.
