Brock Kahanyshyn is Consero’s Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Vice President of Information Technology. Kahanyshyn brings 25 years of experience driving innovative transformations across government, public safety, telecommunications, and energy sectors.
Having managed over $1.7 billion in strategic planning and leading national HPC and AI infrastructure projects, his extensive expertise in cybersecurity, data governance, and large-scale infrastructure modernization are instrumental in fortifying Consero’s security framework and scaling its IT.
Prior to joining Consero, Kahanyshyn served as Vice President, Operations and Security at the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, where he led national digital research infrastructure strategy and operations, overseeing advanced HPC and AI platforms, cloud services, cybersecurity programs, and data centers supporting more than 20,000 researchers across the country. He previously held the role of Chief Information Officer at the University of Calgary, directing enterprise-wide technology, security, and digital services for over 50,000 users and helping rebuild trust and resilience following a major cyber incident.
Kahanyshyn has also contributed to global cybersecurity and AI policy and practice as an appointee to the International Association of Chiefs of Police Computer Crime and Digital Evidence Committee and as a committee member of the HPC-AI Leadership Organization (HALO).
Kahanyshyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Calgary and an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
